Alis: Perimenopause Journal

Alis privacy policy.

Everything you write stays on your iPhone. Alis has no account, no servers, no analytics, and no advertising.

Effective date: October 22, 2026

Summary

Alis: Perimenopause Journal is a private journal for perimenopause and menopause. It is developed by Ambrosio Gomez (“we”), with support provided through AGDev1. We do not collect any data through the app. What you enter stays on your iPhone unless you choose to share or export it.

Information the app stores on your iPhone

The app stores what you enter, which may include health information:

  • The symptoms you choose to keep an eye on, and your daily ratings.
  • Notes you write or dictate, kept exactly as you wrote them.
  • Treatments and changes you record, such as medications, supplements, or lifestyle changes, with dates and any details you add.
  • Visit pages: the clinician's name if you add it, appointment dates, your concerns and questions, notes about what your doctor said, plan items, and whether you felt heard.
  • Your settings, such as reminder time, and your name for the visit page PDF only if you choose to remember it.

This information is kept in the app's protected storage, using iOS Data Protection, so it can't be read while your iPhone is locked. You can also lock the app with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. The app has no account and no network connection, and it does not use a server or cloud synchronization.

iCloud and device backups

By default, Alis excludes your entries from iCloud Backup and computer backups. If you turn on Include in iCloud backup in the app's settings, your entries are included in your device backup, which is stored and protected by Apple under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy practices.

Information we collect

None. The app does not send your entries or any other data to us or to anyone else. It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party software that collects data. We don't sell or share data because we don't have any.

Sharing and exports

When you share a visit page as a PDF, or export all your data as a file, iOS shows the system share options and you choose where it goes. Once shared, the file is handled by the person, app, or service you chose, under their own privacy practices. The data export is not password-protected, so keep it somewhere private.

Notifications

If you turn on the evening reminder, the app asks iOS for permission to show local notifications. Reminders are created on your iPhone and never include your symptoms or notes. With discreet notifications on (the default), the reminder says only “Time for your check-in.”

Crisis resources

If you choose to call or text 988 from the app, iOS opens the Phone or Messages app. Alis does not record that you did so.

Children

Alis is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.

Keeping and deleting data

Your entries stay on your iPhone until you delete them. Settings → Your data → Delete everything removes all of them, and the app's database files are erased the next time you open it. Deleting the app also removes its data. Exported files and shared PDFs are kept wherever you saved or sent them.

Your rights

Because we don't collect or hold your information, we have nothing to access, correct, or delete on our side. You can view, export, and delete everything in the app at any time.

Not medical advice

Alis helps you organize and share your experience. It does not diagnose or treat any condition and is not a substitute for medical advice.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy details will be updated together, and the effective date above will change.
